A Bit About Me

Hello! My name is Krysten, and I am a graduate of Western Washington University. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, and I'm currently obtaining my CPA license.

I have seven years of accounting experience in a variety of industries, including construction, healthcare, and fitness. I love to expand my knowledge in every role I have had. In every task I take on, I give everything I have to ensure the best possible outcome. I am well-versed in account reconciliations, financial statement analysis, payroll, accounts payable, and ad-hoc reporting. I have a unique talent for quickly understanding a problem and finding a strong solution.

While I grew up in Florida, I am an honorary Washington native. When I am not working with numbers, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, playing with my eight cats, and writing.

Work Experience Highlights

Senior Accountant

A Different Perspective

My First Job

Graduated from Western Washington University

After over 10 years from college until now, learning from so many experiences and diversifying myself in accounting knowledge, more then I thought possible, I worked as a Senior Accountant for years before becoming a managing member at Abacus, an achievement I am most proud of. With a supporting family including 8 cats, I know there is no challenge I can't take on.

I decided to take some time and really push myself, applying at the WA State Auditors Office, where I first-hand experience with the audits I had come to understand in accounting. I found that as challenging as it was (and I love a challenge) auditing just was not my passion. I learned and took the experience and knowledge as a Assistant State Auditor, Level 1, and then pushed my career forward.

My first job I have to say was the most challenging. I learned how to collaborate on a team in the filed, got to put my college education to the test and really dive into bettering my skills. My mom (my inspiration) works in the same field and I was able to use her years of experience to bounce ideas off of and she helped to develop me into the accountant I am today.

I graduated from Western Washington University 2015 and have been very focused on my accounting career ever since. Support from my mom, grandma and husband really helped to get me through the difficult classes. Now I am a proud member of the accounting community and I love that my education helps me make a difference in peoples lives.
